Usama bin Laden is dead. Or, is he?

To understand the gravity of the title of this blog post, one needs to briefly revisit the attacks onto the United States of America on 9.11.2001.

Two aircraft crashed into the Twin Towers in Manhattan, NY, subsequently sending the towers into collapse, causing the loss of thousands of lives and several more casualties in the wake of the clean up.

At the same time, an aircraft crashed into the Pentagon, causing massive damage to the American military headquarters.

The culprit of the attacks was quickly identified; a terrorist organization, Al-Quaida, headed up by its founder Usama bin Laden. In the wake of the attacks, the US administration vowed to chase this man down, and bring him to justice; in the words of former President Bush: “Dead or Alive”.

10 years later, thousands of lives later, an unwelcome war later, a massive recession later, we seem to have accomplished our goal. …..or have we? +Continue Reading

Organized Religion

As we ring in the new year, 2011 may just be the time to start setting a few things straight. Let me start with something that Vatican, every Imam and other figures of religious importance will vehemently disagree with: Organized Religion is the root of many evils. Organized religion is overrated. Organized religion is … +Continue Reading

Black Friday Frenzy – America is fat!

The day after an over indulgence of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pies, appetizers, beer, wine, and tons of other stuff we shouldn’t eat in that amount, you’d think that the eager shopper would walk it right back off on Black Friday. You’re wrong…. +Continue Reading

Veterans Day – an unpopular opinion

First off, thanks to all the soldiers, past and present, for doing what you do. Without diminishing each uniformed member’s efforts to fight for what they believe in, I’d like to put everything back in balance.  The continuation of this article is not to belittle the efforts of our military personnel, but to point a critical finger at our society. Read on at our own risk.. +Continue Reading

Educational Censorship: 50 Books Banned from Schools

When was the last time you’ve read a classic. A real classic. Ernest Hemingway, Mark Twain, J.D Salinger type classic. Depending on your age, o’ avid SniperMagazine reader, you may have read it in school or at the very least, heard some of the stories told to you by your grandparents, mom or dad.

Some of these stories may even make up the memories you draw from when you fondly remember your folks. Well, not anymore, America. Times have changed… +Continue Reading

LA petition for Topless Beaches

Upfront, a disclaimer. Whomever feels the need to comment, is completely off their rocker. Evidently, 30+ pages worth of comments on CNN’s iReport, are displaying the distinct tendency of the general American idiot. +Continue Reading

The flight of a flight attendant

Steven Slater is the name. JetBlue the airline and the name of the fame passenger that caused the entire ruckus has been withheld to date. It’s a great start to a somewhat entertaining story with quite the moral. I’ve had my share of airline travel, and I’ve experienced more than one occasion where the Flight Attendant should have been smacked around for their behavior. +Continue Reading

Proposed violence, but you can’t smack your child…

Disclaimer: SniperMagazine.com does not support violence. However, we do support a more strict and less tolerant educational system of family values.

America has grown into the wrong direction. We’re a soft, overly political correct society, advocating a strange life style, condoning what used to be unthinkable. Violence is proposed wherever we turn. There are wars in reality, wars in online games, wars in movies. A headshot in a game counts more than an actual academic accomplishment. All the while, correcting a child like it used to be done in “the good old days”, is outlawed and may have immediate legal consequences.

Days without Internet – Possible?

Disclaimer: If you have gotten used to the Sniper’s more cynical approach to everyday topics, this post is a little less dramatic, but maybe a bit more philosophical than usual.

It doesn’t happen often, in this interconnected world of ours, but ever once in a while, an internet outage can change your daily course of life. What’s the effect on the Sniper and to what lengths would you go to secure at least a little time on the interwebs? +Continue Reading

Who’s driving here? Pooch on the wheel!

(What really irks me) Next time you’re in your car, take a good look around. How many drivers can you count with their pooch on their lap? Ain’t it cute when they stick their little noses on the window, with their headgear, looking all innocent? What once was the domain of little white haired ladies and some elderly gents, has become mainstream. Yes, thank you Ms. Hilton for making the dressed up pooch en vogue. +Continue Reading
