Miley Cyrus – Uproar over the latest video. Seriously?!
Personally, I’m having a hard time believing that it actually comes to that. The general public has a massive outcry over Miley Cyrus’ latest video for her song “Who owns my heart”. To begin with, if America doesn’t have any other worries than Miley Cyrus, we’re doing quite good in this recession ridden country of ours. Secondly, there seems to be a massive front of people with mental chastity belts,…… who come crawling from their dark bedrooms just to bitch. But, let’s explore that further, shall we?
To give you a better insight, here’s the “hardcore” video of the 17yr old pop starlet.
Shocking, isn’t it?! It must be, because the leading comments on Youtube about the above video are:
“She looks at least 25 in this video, why couldn’t she do a video appropriate to her age. There’s plenty of time for this kind of video later. Girls are never allowed to be? girls for very long, they must all be a seductress. It’s sad.”
Or on TMZ.com
“You are all forgetting a looming fact here: Miley is a MINOR CHILD. Her parent’s can get into sizable trouble allowing this kind of thing. CPS should pay old Billy Ray a nice visit and ask him why he’s showing off his minor child in this manner….”
Then there’s the kingpin of all complaints. The Parents Television Council – (TMZ.com) “It is disturbing that she would participate in such a sexually charged video. It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly.” — Tim Winter — President of the PTC.
Ok, let’s slow down for a second. The morally overcharged, overly zealous mainstreamers, who lack the ability to define between the sexual acts of their own minors, whom I’m relatively sure are exploring their sexuality just like any other teen, and the proposition of entertainment, need to sit down and evaluate what’s really going on here.
Personally, I couldn’t care less about Miley Cyrus or her father for that matter, but I care about the fact that a right winged, ultra conservative, “I’m thinking for you, with my bible under my belt”, group strives to determine the direction and career of an undisputed pop star.
Arguments like the above, that MC built her fame and fortune through young girls, seem to have forgotten that her fanbase didn’t stop in their evolution, but grew up alongside. Piercing, tattoos, sexually charged environments are probably by far surpassing the suggestiveness of the video above. Also, looking back a few years; Madonna, anyone?
The material girl, followed by Britney Spear’s smash hit “Hit me one more time” in the mid 90′s, to other suggestive songs and videos, yet our overly correct society wants to complain about Cyrus?
Rid yourselves from the mental chastity belt and let individuals be who they want to be. There has no law been broken, no nipple shown, no distraction, other than the one in your mind.
Another TMZ.com comment here: “The video and song to me is pretty disturbing. They should just use this video to capture all the pedos out there. less than half way in and had to close out of it. Just gross.”
Pedophiles? Based on the posted video above, the reader concludes that it’s a call for pedophiles to come from underneath the woodworks? While I agree that MC looks to be made artificially older than she actually is; there’s hardly a way to depict her as a 17yr old in this video. Particularly the make up, angles, lighting, etc. give her an older appearance, but concluding that this is an invitation for child pornographers to splat all over their screens is disturbing. One that arrives at this kind of conclusion, may just be too close to the border of being a pedophile themselves. 
Once again, our politically overly correct society, with an institution like the “Parents Television Council”, takes it upon themselves to scream foul. It cannot surprise anyone that this nation is going down the drain when everything is supposed to be pussyfied. It all has to be politically correct, and once we arrived there, we’ll make it overly correct. And if that doesn’t do, we’ll throw the bible at you, or call you a pedophile, because you’re out of bound for the rigid standards of our warped watch dogs.
Frankly, it’s quite disturbing to realize which course this country is taking. Compared to Europe, where educational standards are by far surpassing the American standards, crime rates are far below US rates as well, all the while censorship is being kept to an acceptable minimum, we must take the other course and emancipate ourselves again.
If you disagree with something, walk away, don’t look at it. No one forces you to watch the video, to feel stimulated or interpret more into it then there needs to be.
Loosen up a little. Release some of the pressure on yourselves America. Take off the mental constraints and be free again, rather than burdening your existence with constant screams of “Foul! There’s a tit/nipple!” Think back to Woodstock. Although a little “extreme” of a countermeasure, I’m sure many of you were just a little happier back then.
At the very bottom line comes the inevitable, though. It’s a business, and if anything, MC has reached or surpassed her goal. She got your attention, you watched the video and you will most likely watch the next one as well, hungry for another reason to comment and be politically correct. If you’d like to keep score?
